M.L. Jhingan is an alumnus of the University of Delhi who after his M.A. worked as Research Assistant on a project of Dr.V.K.R.V. Rao, the then Director, Delhi School of Economics. Dr. Jhingan taught economics to postgraduate classes for over three decades and had been contributing to academic journals.
He is the author and co-author of a number of widely acclaimed textbooks on Economics and Management that sell in India and abroad. His books combine theoretical rigour and lucid exposition of the various concepts and theories of economics.
His most popular and best selling text, The Economics of Development and Planning, was published 50 years ago in 1966. Dr.Jhingan also guided Ph.Ds in India and Abroad. Prof. Jhingan was Head of Economics Department and Principal, Government Post Graduate Evening College, Bhiwani and retired as Deputy Director, Higher Education, Haryana.
