Rama, prince of Ayodhya, is exiled from his kingdom by the will of his stepmother. His devoted brother Lakshmana and his wife, gentle Sita, choose to go with him into the depths of a forest filled with danger. There, the ten-headed rakshasa king Ravana abducts Sita and carries her away to Lanka, an island fortress in the middle of the ocean. Determined to rescue her, Rama gains the help of thousands of magical monkeys and wages a great war against Ravana. Among his allies stands one hero above all others: the brave and wonderful Hanuman, without whom this epic story cannot be told.
